Chimpanzee Adoptions and Conservation

Adopt a ChimpanzeeCare for the Wild International’s works to help chimpanzees in Africa. Funded by our adoption scheme and by donations from our supporters we aim to make a difference by providing practical help to aid animals in most need.

Chimpanzees are threatened by the bushmeat trade, which represents a perpetual serious threat to African wildlife and primates in particular. Wildlife is now snatched from the forests in increasingly large numbers to fuel heavily commercialised trade, which supplies large cities and even extends to foreign countries. Chimpanzees are also snatched from the wild to supply the pet trade and entertainment industry. Many are abandoned when they become fully grown, boisterous adults. Care for the Wild International works with the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Kenya to provide a place of shelter for these orphaned chimpanzees.

To help fund this project we run a chimpanzee adoption scheme which allows people to support these vulnerable animals. By adopting a chimpanzee our supporters are making a very personal connection with these wonderful animals.

Our aim is to make a difference and help chimpanzees wherever they are in need and this work is just part of our overall practical work to fight animal cruelty, promote animal welfare, rescue and help animals in need and make a difference!
Adopt a Chimpanzee Much of the work we do for chimpanzees is funded by our adoption scheme which allows people to support these endangered animals. The rest of our work is funded by donations from our supporters.
